My name is Lance Haysom. I'm a freelance web developer down in New Zealand and you are now looking at version two of my portfolio website.

I started Red Gem Media in early 2005 to make a few websites for friends. These people had already paid other people for their existing sites (sometimes not a small amount either) and wanted me to simply update the content as they couldn't and the original developers wanted a fortune for simple changes. I call this thieving!

I knew their sites should be dynamic and based on a Content Management System (CMS) so they could make these changes when they wanted without forking out significant sums for the privilege. So that's what they got and that's how I started.

Because everyone loves bullet points:
